Gayle Hazelwood
"Not a Typical Ranger"
National Park Service Urban Agenda Gayle is an African-American woman who grew up in a predominately white area of Central Ohio, whose job is to engage a part of urban America that has not traditionally been connected to the parks. She now feels at home in places where she's made connections with people - Atlanta, New Orleans - places where the parks tell the story of our cultural landscape rather than the natural one. We found her dancing on the streets of Sweet Auburn in Atlanta.
